Wild Night in Montreal! Weenk Wins Racing, Freestyle Decided in 3-Way Cheer-Off!

Linsey Weenk Racing StreakWe have just received an update on the Montreal Monster Jam that took place earlier tonight, and it was a wild one! Three trucks rolled before freestyle, including Tony Farrell’s Blue Thunder during intros. In racing, Maximum Destruction (Tom Meents) rode a side surf that came too far back over, and Jim Koehler’s Avenger also rolled. Racing came down to Linsey Weenk in Iron Outlaw and Jimmy Creten’s Bounty Hunter, with Weenk taking the victory.

The sometimes-tacky, sometimes-slidy Montreal dirt had less of an effect in freestyle, but plenty of work remains to be done on trucks before their next show. Chris Bergeron in Brutus and Jim Koehler in Avenger each caught huge air during their runs, and each broke a wheel off upon landing, Koehler the right front and Bergeron a rear. Koehler continued and ended up rolling to finish his run. Andy Slifko took a liking to Hot Wheels and made the adjustment nicely, getting several solid hits in. Anderson rolled Grave Digger about halfway through his run. Meents took Maximum Destruction through its paces and earned a three way tie for the win with Charlie Pauken (Taz) and Creten, who had a standing start power wheelie included in his run. Meents took the victory by crowd cheer-off.

We thank our contributors for the update and photos from the event will be on the way soon!

Grave Digger 20 to Debut at SEMA

SEMA show Las VegasThe newest addition to the Grave Digger family, truck number 20, will debut at the SEMA convention in Las Vegas, Nevada in early November. The truck can currently be seen in the garage area of Digger’s Dungeon, where it is being worked on feverishly in preparation for its debut.

With this news brings the possibility of a competition debut before year’s end. The chassis was made in-house once again and is almost identical to the Digger 19 chassis. Dennis Anderson’s new truck will be similar to Digger 19, but with adjustments and mounts in more places for easier mid-race tuning. We will have more news as it is available.

News from Indy Jambo!

Raminator vs. BigfootThis weekend at the Indianapolis Jambo has been a wild one. The first show of the weekend saw Bigfoot edge out a win over Raminator. In freestyle Jim Koehler and Avenger put on a wild show and rolled Avenger over. The wreck caused some heavy damage and broke 4 mounts on the chassis. Today’s events saw Raminator take out Bigfoot in a rematch of yesterdays finals. T-Maxx broke an axle shaft on a hard landing during his freestyle but, the highlight of freestyle was Jim Koehler who took the reigns of Brutus while Avenger was being repaired and tore up the freestyle track with huge air and some great sky wheelies. We will have more information after tomorrows events along with photos, so stay tuned to AllMonster for updates.

Moline Mayhem!

Grave Digger FreestyleTwo excellent shows went down this weekend in Moline, Illinois on Friday and Saturday, and AllMonster was there to cover it all. The Friday show started off with a bang courtesy of Rod Schmidt, filling in for Chad Tingler in Safe Auto. Schmidt powered into a past-vertical sky wheelie during the wheelie contest, landed on the cars and walked the truck back down, earning a 29 from the judges. Carl VanHorn (Grave Digger XIV) tied Schmidt with another past vertical wheelie and rollover, and was voted the winner by crowd applause. In racing, Schmidt had the field covered on the way to a final round win over Neil Elliott and Maximum Destruction. Freestyle and the donut contest were all VanHorn, with perfect 30’s in each.

Saturday was a clean sweep of the four contests for Grave Digger, although highlight reel runs in freestyle from Schmidt and Elliott were very close. VanHorn powered into a cyclone donut that eventually caught up with him, causing a rough rollover on the concrete to end freestyle. Photos, coverage, and much more will be available soon!
